Family Ground Floor Makeover

A modern living room with a dark gray built-in shelving and cabinet unit. The shelves hold framed photographs, decorative letters, and ornaments. A large flat-screen TV is mounted in the center of the unit, with a soundbar below it. There is a window to the right with a radiator underneath, and a plush beige rug on a wooden floor.

The Brief

At MARSH & CO, we specialize in crafting luxury interiors that serve as a true reflection of our clients' unique personalities. The Sheffield project is a masterclass in this philosophy, harmonizing high-end aesthetics with everyday practicality. By grounding our process in the client’s specific vision, we delivered a cohesive design language that flows seamlessly from the living quarters through the architectural transitions of the home.

The living space is anchored by bespoke cabinetry finished in Little Greene Paint, featuring integrated ambient lighting that transforms the unit into a luminous focal point. This custom installation, paired with a tactile slatted timber backdrop, creates a sophisticated environment for both relaxation and entertainment. Strategic use of bespoke wallpaper and natural wood beams adds warmth and depth, ensuring the monochrome scheme feels inviting rather than clinical. The home's design narrative is reinforced through bold, monochromatic details, through th surface textures in the media unit to the contemporary play of tones along the staircase. A luxury herringbone runner with a striking black border provides a graphic punch, elegantly finished with traditional metal stair rods. The result is a refined yet lively atmosphere, an inspirational sanctuary tailored to the lifestyle and aspirations of our clients.
